GLO Science Brilliant Teeth Whitening Kit Reviews—Your Ultimate Device To Achieving Pearly Whites

As we all know that our smile is an extremely vital accessory. With that, surely whitening your teeth has crossed your mind plenty of times over the years. Yet, with teeth whitening products aplenty, from kits to strips, and gels to pens, so on and so forth, it can be hard to decide which treatment to invest in when you wish to take up at-home teeth whitening. Whether you have a special date night you need to get ready for or simply want to achieve pearly whites, GLO Science has you covered with their portable GLO Science Brilliant Teeth Whitening Device.

Ahead, I tested this device out for the suggested time of 10 days, only to notice a brighter, more radiant smile isn’t as tough to achieve as I initially thought.

About My Teeth: I Can’t Go A Day Without Coffee

I’m an avid coffee drinker. I won’t even try to pretend that I work hard for whiter teeth. While oral health is of paramount importance to me, I am not willing to give up my coffee obsession only for a brighter smile. My teeth are somewhere in between mild yellow and bright white, not too bad but not particularly good, either. I am sure they could always be a little brighter, so I took on the challenge of trying this product out.

While I’ve tried a few whitening products previously just to see how they would work, I’ve never committed to using something for 10 days straight like this whitening kit.

What are the Ingredients Used in GLO Brilliant?

GLO Brilliant uses 6% hydrogen peroxide supported by distilled water, polyethylene glycol, potassium nitrate, glycerin, edetate disodium, sodium saccharin, soum fluoride, sodium hydroxide, and flavor.

What makes GLO Brilliant gel different from the other gel used in professional treatments is the percentage of hydrogen peroxide (24-30% for the professional treatments vs. 6% here). This helps to ensure that the product is safe and gentle to use without a dentist’s supervision and unlikely to cause tooth sensitivity.

How to Apply: Consistency is the Key to Success

The kit comes with application vials that contain whitening gel in them, so all you need to do is apply a thin layer of gel on your teeth, then plug the mouthpiece into the remote, turn it on, and pop it in your mouth. Say your lips tend to get dry, use the lip balm treatment before each session to help keep it moist.

I thought the device was smart and useful because it took the effort of preserving the health of your lips other than your oral. The vials also have enough product in them to last you one whole day (the complete 32 minutes) and can most likely have some excess product left over for touch-ups. It’s also very convenient that you’ll see a blue light flashing, and then you know you’re ready to insert the mouthpiece and begin whitening.

The remote has a small lanyard that you can drape around your neck for convenience if you’re moving around. If you’re still, you can just hold onto the remote if you don’t feel like wearing the device around your neck. Each whitening session lasts about 8 minutes, and you need to repeat the session 4 times, making it 32 minutes in total. I applied the gel, popped the device in for 8 minutes, would spit out any excess in the sink, re-apply the gel and insert the device again.

The Results: A Brighter Smile Achieved

Overall, my teeth did appear whiter in the end compared to when I first started. They aren’t extremely bright white or shockingly noticeable, but I feel that my results were more believable and natural compared to something that looks overly pretentious and fake, which I am quite satisfied with.

The gel doesn’t taste bad compared to other gels I’ve tried, and I didn’t experience any sensitivity with my teeth or gums when using the GLO Science Brilliant teeth whitening kit. Results will vary though, so it’s crucial to be consistent with using the device and then monitoring your progress closely. Should you experience any teeth sensitivity, stop using the device immediately and consult your dentist right away.

The Value: Worth Every Penny Spent

At a price of $199, you’re getting a total of 40 teeth whitening applications (think 4 per session x 10 vials), so that roughly makes under $5 per application, saving you more money than what you’d normally spend at the dentist office.

While nothing can compare to the results of in-office whitening treatment as dentists use stronger whitening methods, this at-home kit makes for a valuable alternative for anyone who wants to brighten their teeth on a budget and needs to see results quickly for a special date or event or anything else in between.

GLO Science Brilliant Teeth Whitening Kit Reviews—My Final Verdict

If achieving a brighter, whiter smile at home is your ultimate goal, GLO Brilliant will definitely get you there. Though the price might seem a little steep especially if you’re a beginner, the value it offers is worth the investment. It brightens your smile up a dozen or so shades, and is also painless, give it a try!

FAQs

  1. Is GLO Brilliant different from GLO Science’s GLO Lit product?

Yes, but not much. Both use a device that integrates light with heat to speed up whitening, and the gel in both kits is similar. The difference lies in the power pack. The one that includes the GLO Lit interacts with the GLO app more and charges slightly faster. Since these aren’t features we feel make a significant difference in user experience, we prefer the GLO Brilliant.

  1. Does the LED light make a difference?

LED light alone doesn’t whiten teeth. Instead, it helps accelerate the whitening process when the gel is applied. Just like changing your hair color, the heat helps the bleaching agent penetrate deeper into your hair’s cortex and dissolve the natural pigment faster.

  1. Is it safe to use the GLO Brilliant when pregnant or breastfeeding?

There’s not much research done on this aspect. So, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend speaking to your gynaecologist or professional healthcare provider alike to determine if these teeth whitening products are suitable for you.
