To find your flow and avoid making a mess, close your lips slightly around the floss tip and lean over your sink. Lightly press the “q” button for on-demand water flow, or press and click for a steady stream. Press again to turn off.
For a thorough clean, start in one quadrant of your mouth, and floss only one tooth at a time (about two seconds each) along the gumline, front/back, and in between. Repeat these steps in all four quadrants.
